Exploration Update from the Honib Licence: High-Grade Silver Associated with Large Polymetallic Soil Anomalies

Helio Resource Corp. (TSX-V: HRC) ("Helio" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that infill soil sampling and rock chip sampling at its' 100% owned Honib property, located in northwestern Namibia, has discovered significant silver-rich polymetallic mineralisation.

The Honib licence hosts a 4,300m x 500m polymetallic soil anomaly discovered by Helio in late 2005 (see Company press release dated December 6, 2005). Results from a detailed infill soil sampling programme over part of the Grid 1 area have now been received. A total of 674 soil samples were taken at a 125m x 20m sample spacing.

The results define three main polymetallic soil anomalies, including a large Ag + Pb + Cu ± Zn anomaly covering an area of 750m x 400m, located in the northern portion of the grid. A number of composite grab samples of representative mineralised rocks were taken in this northern anomaly - named "Grensvoet". The following assays were recorded:
Sample # Ag (g/t) Au (g/t) Cu (%) Pb (%) Zn (%)
   1 40.4 0.13 0.24 1.95 0.2
   2 1,210.0 0.34 3.22 0.35 n/a
   3 164.0 n/a 19.70 0.19 n/a
   4 6.2 n/a n/a 0.46 n/a
   5 59.0 n/a 0.45 0.78 n/a
   6 314.0 1.31 4.67 n/a n/a
All of the samples, excluding Sample # 3 (high grade copper - 19.7%), were collected from an intermediate volcanic rock. The mineralisation, which is not obviously visible in outcrop, is disseminated through the host volcanic. Sample 2 contains the highest grade silver values (1.21 kg/t Ag) yet recorded by Helio in Namibia. Sample localities are shown on the attached map. The anomaly is open under cover to the NE. The Company intends to conduct initial drill-testing of this anomaly in the near future.

Chris MacKenzie, M.Sc., C.Geol., Helio's Executive Chairman and a Qualified Person as designated by NI 43-101, supervised the sampling and quality control programs at Honib and has reviewed the technical content of this news release. The samples were analyzed at ALS Chemex Laboratories in Johannesburg, South Africa.
